Budget Cuts Blues Buster!
Help Us Help Our Schools!
We’re reading nearly every day about budget cuts to our local schools. What a sad situation we are in when our society can’t even fund what is most important.
We’ve been discussing this budget mess in the salon and we’ve come up with an idea on how we can help. We’ve decided as a team to donate $10 to schools for every hair service.
Here’s how we’ve set it up to work:
- Book your appointment with one of our stylists between now and May 29, 2010.
- For every hair service completed and paid for by May 29, 2010 just tell us which local school you would like to receive a $10 donation from Hair Techniques.
- Hair Techniques will donate $10 from each and every paid hair service to the school of your choice.
We’re calling it the “Budget Cuts Blues Buster!” We’ve been feeling so “blue” about the situation and this let’s us do our part to help. But we need your help. Please let us do your hair! Please pass the word…tell your friends! Please book an appointment!

BioSilk Glazing Gel
This is my absolute favorite product! It’s incredibly hard to find and the only place I’m able to buy it is at Hair Techniques.
Why do I love it?
Glazing gel is a light hold styling aid – it gives just the right amount of hold to my hair. It does not feel heavy or greasy and I only use a pea size amount (Donna’s advice) every day so it lasts a very long time.
I can style my hair with or without my blow dryer. So, even in the summer when I’m in a rush or just coming out of the pool, I can put some quickly in my hair, not blow dry and my hair will behave. I’ve tried going without it and what a scary mistake — my hair won’t cooperate at all!
BilSilk Glazing Gel
It has real silk in it (so I am told). Just like the silk in a silk shirt so it leaves a nice sheen in my hair. Great stuff. I recommend it. I use it every day.

Pacifica
We love being located in Pacifica. Primarily for three reasons:
- From our salon front windows we can see the magnificent Pacific Ocean.
- We’re so close to the city…it’s just a hop, skip and jump away yet…
- Pacifica has that “hometown” feel that is so rare in communities these days.
We talk to Pacifica residents all day long as they come and go from our salon. If what we hear and learn about local Pacifica happenings is something we feel of value to others, we’ll post it. Similarly if you have any item you’d like us to pass along, let us know.

All About You
For a while now I’ve been talking to my friend Donna about launching a blog for her hair salon, Hair Techniques located in the coastal community of Pacifica, California. Today that idea becomes a reality. Why? Well think about it…if you’ve ever spent time in a hair salon, it is often the “hub” of the community — think “Steel Magnolias” and “Legally Blonde”…bend and snap!
Much gets discussed, debated, even solved. As a regular customer of Hair Techniques for about 15 years I’ve heard quite a bit at the salon. So, now we will document much of it here…what is of interest about hair styles, hair care, make-up, health…plus what’s happening in our communities of Pacifica and the greater SF Bay Area.
As Donna is fond of saying about Hair Techniques, it’s all about you. So, our virtual doors are open. Please, drop us a line.
